Penn ar Bed exists since 1953 and today its collection constitutes and extraordinary encyclopedia of nature in Brittany. It is a magazine which also publishes many special issues on specific places (the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel), on a certain species (les limicoles) or on a theme (the slopes), and very diversified issues. Since its creation, the format of the magazine has remained the same, but its presentation has evolved by making ample use of color diversified illustrations. The authors are naturalists, biologists, geographers, ethnologists; some are well known scientists and others are untitled devotees. All endeavor to contribute information which is precise and accessible to a very wide public.
