The mabinogion (in the singular mabinogi), are prose tales originally written by bards (Myrddin, Taliesin, etc.), and which constitute the literary culture of the "mabinog", apprentice bard. This Kuhlwch and Olwen mabinogi is a Welsh novel written between the 11th and 12th centuries, which Joseph Loth, a prominent specialist in Celtic languages, has faithfully translated and annotated for ease of understanding.
