'An Avel' which became 'Avel an Trec'h' was a Breton language magazine created by Youenn Olier and Yann ar Gall. The publication of 'An Avel' began in September 1945. On the departure of Yann Ar Gall, the magazine changed its name to 'Avel An Trec'h'. The magazine was forbidden in October 1947 until March 1948 as the French authorities thought it was reminiscent of 'Breiz Atao' and 'l'Heure Bretonne'. In December 1948 the magazine ceased publication.
