On the 20th of September 1930, an incredibly violent storm hit Quiberon. The authorities listed the resulting number of victims and damages : 207 deaths, 127 widows, 191 orphans. Two thirds of the victims were from the Morbihan region. Of the 27 boats lost at sea, 21 were registered in the harbours of Ëtel, Groix and Port-Louis. 50 ships were unusable and more than 400 more or less out of order. A national day of appeal for help to the victims of the sea was organised on the 30th November 1930. This Postcard was offered for sale on that occasion.
