Seán O'Casey (Seán Ó Cathasaigh in Irish) (March 30, 1880 in Dublin - September 18, 1964 in Torquay) is an Irish playwright. A committed socialist and nationalist, he was the first Irish playwright to place his plays within the urban working classes of his country.
