Jean Marie Le Roux was born on 4th April 1863 in Prat.
His parents Louis Le Roux and Marie Anne Geffroy were farmers.
Jean Marie Le Roux married Rose Marie Tregoat from Callac in 1897. He died in Rennes in 1949. He was a teacher in Guingamp (1882-89), professor at the Lycée in Brest(1889-1896), and in Montpellier (1896-98) before becoming professor in applied Mathematics at the university of Rennes.
On 26th July 1898, J Le Roux was appointed lecturer at the University of Rennes, where he later held the chair for professor of applied mathematics from 1902 to 1933: his thesis of 1894, approved in 1895, was in this field.
