Le Penven Jef

Jef Le Penven was a Breton composer of music, born in Pontivy on 3rd November 1919 and died in Douarnenez on 30th April 1967.

He is know for the adaptation he did of a poem did in 1941 ' Me zo ganet e kreiz ar mor' by Yann-Bêr Kelloch. A famous orchestra conductor, his major work as composer is the Cantata from the end of the world (Kanadenn penn ar bed).
