
Camille Paul Marie Aristide Le Mercier d'Erm, born on 12th November 1888 in Niort under the name of Camille Le Mercier, later adding his mother's name, Marie d'Erm, died on 18th August 1978 in Dinard, his bardic name being Kammermor and his Breton name Kamil Ar Merser 'Erm, was a French language poet, a publisher, historian and Breton activist, being the great grandson of an officer in the 'Chouan uprising.
Founder of the 'Parti Nationaliste Breton' in 1911, he played a prominent role amongst the young Breton activists of the period between the two World Wars. He is one the most talented of the Breton poets in the French language. He also founded the newspaper 'Breizh Dishual' (Free Brittany): his work as a poet and historian is committed to the nationalist claims and call to rebellion.
