Jollivet Benjamin

hilibert-Benjamin Jollivet (1804-1867) - Printer and Publisher; also author and journalist, - Originally from Saint-Benoît-du-Sault (Indre). He settled in Guingamp (Côtes-d'Armor) in 1830. There he printed numerous publications in the Breton language. Also several periodicals, of which 'Affiches, annonces et avis divers de Guingamp et de Lannion' in 1832. 'Le Conteur bas breton': (1839-1841) a bi-monthly newspaper of agricultural, commercial and literary  advertisements, 'Le Caboteur': (April 1844-October 1845) a commercial leaflet, 'Le Cultivateur des Côtes du Nord' (Feb. Oct. and Nov. 1845) etc... Also compiled and published 'Les Côtes-du-Nord, history and geography of all the towns and communes of that department (Guingamp, B.Jollivet then Rouquette, 1854-1859, 4 volumes) and 'Voyages en Basse Bretagne', by Vérusmor (Alexis Géhin), with supplementary notes by B.Jolivet (Guingamp, B.Jolivet 1855). Died in Guingamp in June 1867.
