
Pierre Flatrès, born in Saint-Jean-Trolimon in 1921 and died in Paris on 18th November 1998, belonged to a Breton geography school that enabled a better understanding of the geography of Brittany and other Celtic countries. A rural geographer from the Bigouden country, he devoted his thesis in 1955 to four Celtic countries (Ireland,Wales, Cornwall and the Isle of Man) before concentrating his work on the understanding of the Breton area.
