He was born in South Wales in 1946 but spent most of his early life in London. it was a holidays trip to Wales in 1976 that first sparked off his interest in the Celts. In 1979 he formed 'Spirit of Celtia' which promoted his cards, embridery transfers and small publications through mail order.
Courteny has had no formal training, yet his work has the fine balance of a man who is a master of is trade.
