Abbé Armand Le Calvez (responsible for an educational study entitled 'Skol'), was the founder and director of the first all Breton school, a Catholic school, 'Skol Sant-Erwan', which operated for 3 years, from 1958 to 1961 in Plouézecl. The Abbé had to give it up when, in 1962, new laws were enforced controlling links between private and public schools: these laws left him with no freedom of choice in his teaching program.
He also created a magazine for children, 'Wanig ha Wenig', which continued after his death; also a youth organisation, 'Breuziezh Sant Erwan'.
