Mocaer Pierre

Pierre Mocaër, born in Paris on 14th May 1887 of parents who came from the Finistère, and died in Brest on 4th February 1961, was a politician, writer, journalist and Breton activist. He was elected general councillor for Ouessant in 1919, and remained in office for many years. He actively defended sailors and truck drivers. He supported Yann Fouéré's campaigns for the teaching of Breton in the schools. In 1919, with Joseph Ollivier, he created the regionalist magazine 'Buhez Breiz'.
