Jean Moreau, born in Quimper around 1552 and died on 29th June 1617 in Quimper, was a Canon of the church, advisor to Corention, the presiding officer of Quimper. His memoirs written from 1606 are a rare source of the history of the League wars in lower Brittany. These memoirs were published in 1836 by Alain Jean-Marie Le Bastard de Mesmeur, the then mayor of Fouesnant.
