Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, born January 15, 1809 and died January 19, 1865 in Paris, is a journalist, economist and French philosopher. Precursor of anarchism, he is the only revolutionary theorist of the nineteenth century to be from the working class. Self-taught, thinker of non-state libertarian socialism, a supporter of mutuellism and Federalism, he was the first to claim anarchist status in 1840.
