Page Jakes

description:

Originally from Brest, the author was the youngest of a large family of 12 children, whose parents were of noble and learned Breton background. He was one of those who thought that  the planet was a little too small for their liking, one of those who set out to discover it, living here and there until the day when they fell in love with people, or a partner, or scenery. The sort who settle down anywhere, and who can be found on any of the five continents.

He was an apprentice at the naval dockyard of Brest, then sports monitor in the army, officer in Indochina, in Germany and in Algeria, then technician and engineer in Geneva and Amsterdam, technical manager then export manager in Paris, consultant engineer then industrialist in Haute Savoie, international manufacturing agent in southern Europe, and finally retired. Residing permanently since 1974 on the shores of Léman. He had many Breton activities: in associations, friendship groups, music, dance, writing...During all these 'tribulations' he was fluent in nine languages and now, at the age of 85, married to a Eurasian born in Vendée, singer in a Russian choir, he has started to learn this Slavic language. Incorrigible!
