The 'Union Régionaliste Bretonne' (URB) was the first Breton regionalist party, created in 1898, of conservative leanings.
It expressed the desire of certain Bretons to become involved in Breton economy, administration and culture.
It was created on 16th August 1898 in Morlaix, in the wake of Breton festivities, under the presidency of Anatole Le Braz with the Marquis de l'Estourbeillon. Francois Vallée was appointed president of the Breton language and litterature section, with Francois Taldir-Jaffrenou as secretary. Louis Tiercelin, with Charles Le Goffic and Anatole le Braz, was one of its founding members.
