Youenn Troal (Yves Troal) was a priest and Breton writer born in 1925 in Combrit.

He is known for his journal of letters, 'Ar C'hrist d'an Indianed', posted regularly from Peru where he was a missionary between 1963 and 1968, and again 1973 to 1978. The letters were serialized in the magazine 'Al Liamm' in the seventies.

They were published again in the form of two books in 2007 and 2010 by 'Mouladurioù Hor Yezh' under the title ' Ar C'hrist d'an Amerindianed'.

Youenn Troal collaborated with Visant Seite in the association 'Ar Skol dre Lizer' between 1968 and 1973. Appointed Rector of Plouneour-Menez in 1980, he gave Breton classes to the theater group 'Strollad ar Vro Bagan', and began to write for the magazine 'Imbourc'h. A television documentary on him was done by France 3 in 1973: 'Oaled ar vro-Bagan'.

In 2002 he retired to Langolen and continues to write regularly for the magazine 'Imbourc'h'.
