description:

Adsao was a monthly magazine and a pro-Catholic regionalist Breton movement during the years 1929 to 1934. It was created by the Abbé Madec, one of the few leaders of 'Bleun Brug' with Abbé Perrot to become involved in the Nationalist movement. Adsao published a monthly newspaper with a circulation of 4 000 / 5 000 copies. It dealt with economical matters, which was at the root of the peasant emigration to the towns. Public meetings were organised (usually on Sundays, preferably after Mass) which drew large crowds. These meetings frequently led to the creation of local branches, led by those elected to the municipality. At the end of 1930, several thousand members were registered. In the Spring of 1934, Adsao joins forces with the ' Confédération des Anciens Combattants' and is thus absorbed by its powerful ally and dissapears.
