
Dr Éamon Ó Ciosáin graduated from University College Dublin (NUI) in 1980 with a First Class Honours B.A. in French and Old Irish. He taught as lecteur and assistant associé in English and Irish Studies at Université de Rennes 2 between 1980 and 1984. He also taught modern Irish in the Département de Breton et Celtique in Rennes. He was appointed Lecturer in French and Irish at Regional Technical College Letterkenny in 1984. A graduate of Rennes 2 in Breton and Linguistics, he then studied for a Maîtrise in Celtic (1986) and a D.E.A. in French literature (1988). He was appointed to the Department of French, Maynooth in 1988.
