Henri Adolphe Liégard, born in Callac on 21st August 1878 at the family home, Place du Centre, to a chemist's family. He completed his medical studies from 1897 to 1903 in Paris, where he qualified as an eye specialist in 1903. He was very involved in various scientific congresses and wrote numerous articles on his speciality: Ophtamology. He died at his home in Paris, 6 rue Michel Chasle, in the 12th 'arrondissement', on 17th July 1957 at the age of 79.
His daughter, Jeanine Huas, is a famous writer, as also his nephew,Yann Fouéré, writer/journalist and one of the most prominent personalities of the Breton Movement.
