Hippolyte Corbes is born in 1898 and deceased in 2001.
His mother was a singer and traveled all over the world. Frotier de la Messelière would say that he was a descendant of Saint-Louis (no proof). He was one of the last 1914-18 war veterans still alive in 2000, and was also president of the Crown Court in Saint Brieuc for several years, then, on his retirement, was president of the 'Société d'Émulation' of Côtes du Nord, before retiring to Saint Servant with his wife. His very varied publications are countless. A great musicologist, he composed several works, but he is especially known for his articles for the scholarly societies of Brittany. He had traveled to most of the Celtic countries and knew their languages.
